Our meditation group meets on Thursdays at 6:15pm AEST on Zoom.

All welcome

Each gathering consists of:

  • A short welcome and introduction on how to meditate
  • A short reflection on the gospel and how it fits with contemplative practice
  • We practice 20 minutes of silent meditation
  • We read the forthcoming Sunday Gospel story
  • Those who wish to keep silence leave
  • Those who wish to stay longer – we reflect, question and create meanings together.
This Week’s Talk: ‘How Silently how Silently the Wondrous Gift is Given’ by Michelle Wood

Although meditation is a rhythmic withdrawal into solitude and silence it is also good that we belong to a community because

  • Meditating with a group of others holds one to the task, like the banks of a river it contains the discipline
  • A community enables us to create meanings together and narrate our spiritual stories.

All are welcome whatever your silent meditation practice maybe: Transcendental, Quaker, Buddhist,  Zen, Secular Mindfulness, Hindu or Christian you are welcome to develop your particular practice with us and enrich our group.

We belong to the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM).

We acknowledge and pay respect to the Wiradjuri people, the traditional custodians of the lands and waters on which we stand, and pay respect to Elders, past and present. We recognise and value the cultural, spiritual customs and practices of all Indigenous Australians.
